Welcome to my blog! I've never done a blog before and I'm a little nervous and not quite sure how this will go. I'm not a writer, my grammar may not always be perfect but I promise to use spell check.

What made me decide to start a blog? Well I've been slowly updating my house and doing as much of it as I can on a budget and also myself. I'm not experienced at all with home renovations and I don't have many tools. Anything I've done has been with stuff that I've seen online through Pinterest or just searching out various blogs with tutorials. That is one of the reasons why I decided to start this blog. To share what I've learned through both success stories and failures.

So hopefully this will help people out in the future when searching for some help. I have a lot of old projects that I plan to get sorted out, photos uploaded and some posts about them soon.

I do have a project that I plan to start next week. It's a partial kitchen renovation. I have previously painted the walls, cabinets and installed new hardware which will be in a post soon. Our oven broke recently which means we need a new one! I'm one of the few people who rejoice at a broken appliance. Our oven is probably 20+ years old. It does not match the kitchen and just is very outdated.

What I noticed below the oven though is our tile is curled up. There is also a crack in it from when I had carpet installed in 2013 and a missing corner that has been missing since I bought the home 10 years ago. It's also so old and worn that no matter what I use to clean the tile it looks dirty. The finish is worn off and the dirt is just ingrained into the tile itself.

After a lot of research, reading blogs, and watching Youtube videos I've decided to try out  TrafficMaster Ceramica Tile. It's on order from Home Depot and set to be delivered next week! It looks do it yourself friendly and like I'll be able to handle it. My biggest fear right now is that since I have the curling tile I need to remove what is there. So starting Monday I will start stripping up the floor! I'm pretty sure my husband is going to hate me next week and I may even hate myself for this plan but I'm hoping after all is said and done it will be worth it.
